March 1, 2023, we (my partner & I) moved in together. Cohabitating is a different experience when you share every space with someone you are in a relationship with. I have learned a great deal about sharing, compromising, and discovering my strengths and weaknesses over the last year.

To celebrate our first year of living together, I wanted to create a painting that I could hang above our bed that represents our relationship. This piece is a reminder of our love for each other.

I started with a large canvas and the medium I used is acrylic. I like to paint using a variety of colors, blending as I create different lines. The mood is “go with the flow” and enjoy the freedom of expression as I paint.

This took several hours and I had a great time tinkering with the colors. I decided to use the heart shape as my theme for the center, as it represents love.

I allowed it to dry for a week before I hung it on the wall above our bed.

The canvas and paint I purchased at Hobby Lobby and found that they have a variety of different sizes for canvas that are reasonable in price.

Art is a great way to express yourself.
